APRIL 9, 2007—8:00 P.M.
The Town of Cross Plains Board of Supervisors met for their regular monthly meeting. Meeting notices had been published in the April 5th issues of the Mt. Horeb Mail, News Sickle Arrow and the Shopper. All Board members, and about 22 citizens were present. The minutes of the March 12, 2007 regular monthly meeting were read by the Clerk and Vera moved to accept them as read, Bob seconded and they were approved.
Steve Kowalski appeared to request a picnic permit on behalf of the Salvation Army for a fund raiser at 3387 Timber Lane on June 22nd from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. He answered several questions from the Board concerning safety, sanitation, and other matters. Vera moved approval, Bob seconded and the permit was approved.
John Dollins from Rural Insurance appeared to update the Board on the many coverages we have. After going over the packet he stated that he will update the information and appear at the May meeting.
Bob moved to clarify that the Plan Commission replaces the Plan Committee, Vera seconded and the motion passed.
The Parks Commission has a vacancy and Howard Lerner has agreed to serve. Bob moved and Harold seconded to appoint Howard to the Commission, motion passed.
The Clerk had correspondence concerning the Horrible Hilly Hundreds event on June 16th. Harold will call the Village of Blue Mounds.
Northwest Dane Update—Vera reported that Ardis Sullivan had died recently so that the lawsuit will probably come to an end. They are in the process of updating their computer records. There is no representative from the Town of Berry.
Harold reported that Madison Gas will be digging up all the sidewalks in Pine Bluff and redoing the new hookups prior to the road being redone this summer.
Road updates—this will be reported on at the annual meeting.
Harold moved to ratify the boundary agreement with the Village of Cross Plains that was drawn up and signed in 2002, Bob seconded. Discussion ensued with Louise Klopp stating that she feels we should wait until the Plan Commission completes the comprehensive plan. It will be put on the May agenda. Harold withdrew his motion and Bob withdrew his second.
Fire District Updates—Cross Plains-Berry no meeting. Mt. Horeb is still looking for help and working on the Intergovernmental Agreement.
Jim Boland felt that the Plan Commission did not need the services of Sharon Royston.
Harold had received an estimate for $263.20 to fix the gutters on the back side of the garage. Bob moved and Vera seconded to go ahead with the repair, motion passed.
Harold moved to adjourn and Vera seconded at 9:03 p.m.
