BOARD OF REVIEW—JULY 17, 2008—4:00 P.M.

Notice had been published in the July 10, 2008 issues of the Mt. Horeb Mail, Shopper, News Sickle Arrow and on the website.  Present were Supervisors Vera Riley, Jeff Baylis, Clerk Ann Walden and assessor Greg Gardiner.  Prior to the call to order the Clerk witnessed the assessor sign the assessor’s affidavit.  Vera was elected Chairman, Jeff vice Chair and Ann Clerk. 

            Only one taxpayer had filed an objection form, Laura Wierzbicki represented by her agent, Greg Griswold.  The Clerk attempted to swear in Mr. Griswold and he stated that since he had not received a 48 hour written notice of his appearance even though he turned in his objection form at 10:00 p.m. on July 21 to the Clerk and she had verbally told him his appearance will be at 4:15 p.m. on the 17^th he would not present his case at this time. The Board agreed to adjourn the Board of Review until August 11 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. to hear his case.

            Mr. Griswold had questions for the Board of Review, such as:  could the Board subpoena records or a witness; he wanted clarification of zoning; can the Board of Review change values even if the proper owner does not ask for a change; and could he have a copy of the assessment card for any record.  The Board of Review adjourned to August 11, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.                      Ann E.
