JUNE 26, 2008—SPECIAL MEETING--11:00 a.m.

The Town of Cross Plains Board of Supervisors held a Special Town Meeting.  Notices were posted 24 hours in advance at the Town Garage, Community Center and Morgans.   Chairman Harold Krantz called the meeting to order at 9:00 to discuss the disposition of Ed Corcorans’s attorney records now that he has left the law firm of Brennan, Steil & Basting and moved to the law firm of Murphy & Desmond.  Newly elected supervisor Jeff Baylis was not present.  Arnie Harris stated he wants to talk and he wants the records returned and anyone could inspect them.  Katy Reeder stated that the records should be back in the Town.  The records belong to the Town.  Jim Mueller indicated that the media had not been notified of the meeting although a reporter from the Mt. Horeb Mail was present.  Stephanie Harris stated that the Town does not need lawyers to handle the records and that there is no index of the records.

The Town had received a document from Brennan, Steil & Bastings with three choices.  The Clerk read the three choices, Choice one:  the file will remain with Brennan, Steil & Basting, S.C. and that someone be assigned responsibility; Choice two:  the file be transferred to Edward W. Corcoran at Murphy Desmond, SC; and Choice three:  the file be returned to me (Harold Krantz) so that I may obtain different counsel.  The client name is Harold Krantz.  Vera moved to change the wording of choice three to the following:  the file be returned to the Town of Cross Plains immediately so that we may evaluate the situation, Harold seconded and the motion passed.  Jim Mueller stated that the meeting was not noticed properly.  Harold moved to adjourn at 11:17, Vera seconded and the meeting adjourned.                                  Ann E. Walden, Clerk
