Jeanne Poast had written the Board requesting a lower speed limit on West Mineral Point Road be on the October agenda. Harold explained that Dane County Sheriff controls this and a specific speed limit is illegal.
Vera Riley had handouts concerning Northwest Dane and the services it offers. The past year we gave $1.25 per citizen. If more can be given, it would be appreciated.
Update from the Plan Commission. The survey has been finalized with 1,100 copies printed in robin’s egg blue. It will go out Monday of the next week to be returned by November 7. There will also be a press release to the local papers. Harold reviewed that Arnie Harris had been appointed as the liaison between the Plan Commission and the Board. He had not been appointed the Comprehensive Plan Coordinator. Harold would like to appoint Mr. Boland as the liaison at this time. He was told that there was no agenda item for this so it would have to be done at the November meeting.
The next agenda item, discussion and action to allow the Planning Commission Secretary to work with our Web Technician to set up a link to the Commission website. It was stated that 23 of 35 Towns in Dane County have websites. The Clerk reported that she had contacted several Towns and none of them has such a link on their Town’s website. Vera reported that the Plan Commission is making progress and both sides can work together. Vera moved that the Plan Commission should be supported with a link to the Town website there was no second. After considerable discussion Harold moved to table the item, Bob seconded and the motion passed.
Fire District Updates—both districts are working toward their budgets.
Harold reported on the roads indicating that there three trees on Old Salk had circles carved in their trucks. There are markings on the roads and Harold reported that there is money remaining from the Ironman to fix the roads. Greg Herrling has agreed to help us out on the gypsy moth problems.
Amelia would like to show a proposed Commission website. Bob moved to adjourn, Vera seconded and the meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
